Signs Your Dog May be Displaying Territorial Aggression
This type of aggression is when your dog becomes extremely hostile, eats chain link fence, jumps up and down, yells, screams, and otherwise creates a ruckus when someone approaches what he perceives as his territory. Other examples, Dog Food Aggression , toy-guarding, or furniture-guarding (he may growl at you if you attempt to move him from his position on the couch). These are all signs that your dog considers himself to be "Alpha". The key to understanding this type of aggression lies within the way dogs communicate, ( Dog Communication ). As owners we must identify the problem and apply proper training techniques to correct it.
