Aggressive Rescued Dog

Hi,
I recently aquired an abandoned dog. She is a german shepherd cross of medium size. She is an incredibly loving dog with my and my boyfriend but has become very aggressive with strangers and other animals.

I need help because I don't want to send her to a shelter but I can't have an aggressive dog as I often have friends and family staying in my home.

Is it possible to train her to not be aggressive or is she just a lost cause?

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
