We adopted our Wheaten Terrier mix about 18 months ago from Animal Services. She was approximately 2 years old then. From the beginning, she has shown aggression towards other dogs when we are on walks. Even from across the street, she will bark and pull constantly. I took her to classes, twice, to try to address this. I was talught Dr. LIn's method of distraction and treats whenever we encountered another dog. I have been using these methods now for a year and a half. Unless I stop every time (we live in a neighbourhood that is full of dog walkers at all times of the day!) and fill her full of treats, she goes crazy when she sees another dog. I am at the end of my rope, so to speak. We even had her put on anti stress meds to try to help. Although this helped a little, I don't feel like I have made any progress. She is a wonderful companion, and really sweet around the house (she even loves our cat!). Walking the dog, however, has become a very unpleasant task, and I want to be able to turn that around. Is there any hope?
