My 8 mo old puppy drew blood

by Lisa
(Mantua, nj)

We rescued an 8 month old mix bred about 2 months ago. Her play style is extremely aggtressive in my opinion. Tonight she started by nipping my hands. When i told her no and moved my hand away she continued. When i stood up to move from her she becane mouthy and started running towards me nipping and biting. When i told her no stop she became even more pushy, continuing to come at me. She drew blood on my wrist, i have scratches, not punctures, from her teeth on my side and arms. We were told she is a chow mix. She looks Sheppard, chow and retriever. What concerns me is her size. She 60 lbs now. I have no money for a trainer and sadly if this continues I'll be forced to pts

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
