JOJO, 4 month old pup, testing the owner

by Kaori0718

My 4 month old puppy has started to get aggressive, nipping, barking and pacing around me. It happens when he is told not to chew the leash or I'm running in front of him, he nips back of my leg and starts to growl.

When he is calm, he is submissive. No problem.
I can let him not to escalate to that level but that is not the ultimate solution.

How can I get his respect even when he is very excited?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
