golden retriever 2 yrs. old, my best friend but can be very aggressive to me.

We have a very wonderful golden retriever and is a very loving and playful dog. He goes with me where ever i go. and is by my side constantly. So why does he turn on me for no reason and will start growling and really bite me hard and won't stop. he has given me some very bad bites on my hand and face. I am scared of him at times when he gets like that. What can I do? I am the one who is with him all the time and the rest of the family does not get treated like this by him. I have tried everything. Otherwise he is my best buddy? HELP.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
