Aggressive Schnauzer Poodle Mix

by Ashley
(Illinois)

I had gotten her when she was about 8 months old and we hadn't seem to be consistent with the training when we had gotten her. she has always loved my mom with a passion but when she would be around others when she is sleeping or eating food ect. we would always go up to pet her and she would bite us. her bite Isint really that hard anymore but when I try to pin her mouth shut and tell her no then she still somehow escapes from the pin and starts growing at me again. now she is 8 years old and I don't know what to do. I love her to death and don't want to get rid of her.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
