I adopted two two-year old males that had been raised together and abandoned - a Mini Pin and a Chihuahua mix.
The Mini Pin is dominant. He is very jealous of any attention the Chihuahua gets or any toy the Chihuahua picks up. He will push the Chihuahua out of the way and eat his food if I don't stop him.
I don't know what happened, but after being with me two years my sweet, adorable Mini-Pin has become very aggressive towards me. He was not socialised as a puppy and has always growled and barked at other people and dogs of any size. He can't go to doggie day care because he snaps at other dogs.
He won't let me touch him or put a harness or leash on him.
He used to love to go for walks or to stretch out next to me and let me pet him or give him a belly rub. No more. He curls his lip and starts growling or even lunging and snapping if he thinks my hand is getting too close.
I had to bundle him up in his doggie bed to take him to the vet to see if there was any physical problem. There isn't.
I don't know what's wrong or how to help my dog. He wags his tail at me and follows me around and licks my feet, legs, or whatever he can get to. He barks like crazy at the Chihuahua if I leave the house.
I love both my dogs and want them to be safe, happy, and healthy. I don't want to give either one up and don't want the Mini Pin to hurt anyone.
I need someone to help me help him.
