Aggressive Chihuahua/ Pomeranian Mix

by Gloria
(Beverly Hills FL USA)

Hi, my dog is 6 yrs old and has become very bossy with my older Yorkie. The Yorkie being over 9 years okd - both are rescues.I've had them both since they were young. The chi/pom has begun attacking the yorkie and holding him down by his head and/or ears. The yorkie screams...the chi/pom turns on me when I try to rescue the yorkie. The are seen by their vet regularly and have no health problems. So far, I have not been bitten. What should I do?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.

All the best,
Adam
