Aggressive Cane Corso Italian Mastiff 10 week old male

by Amanda
(Cleveland, Texas)

My husband bought him as a Christmas gift, we got him at 5weeks old. He has always been a bit nippy playing. However we have a outside dog and Cane my pup got a rib bone at 2 months and he FREAKED OUT! So we were going to just throw it in the trash but we have small children and wanted to teach him to eat from my hand trying to empress gentleness. He took it general the remainder of the time. Fast forward a few weeks and our 3 year old went to pet him when evidentially some people food was on the ground and he bit her. I snatched him up and put him in his pet taxi. What can I do???

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
