Aggressive Aries

Aries is my 7 month old Husky/Pit Bull mix. I know weird combo. It wasnt intentional. Anyways, she was a happy go lucky puppy. Around 5-6 months she started excessively chewing. She ripped up my carpet and chewed the base boards. We corrected her and things got a lil better, then they took a turn for the worst. We had to temporarily put her with a friend of mine because she had more time to train her. She lived with them for about a month. Now my friend has another one of our pups (Aries sister). They would play and run. Everything seemed good at the beginning. Then she started calling me telling me Aries and Luna had a bad fight. And with each phone call each fight got worse.

Today my friend called me because her aggression towards other dogs is at its extreme and during a fight, her father in law got bitten. Now my puppy is back with me. What do I do?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
