Aggressive 8 week old pup

I need some advice. We just got a 8 week old puppy about 2 weeks ago. It is a mix (Mut, Lab, Shepard) My issue is it is showing signs of aggression. This is aggression with the intent to harm.

My little boy walked up behind the pup and sat down and tried to hug him. I was watching and My little boy was not rough. The dog turned around groweled, showed teeth and tried to bite my little boy. I heard teeth snap! We got this dog for my son and I do not want a dog tring to hurt him.

Why is this young dog so aggressive. He has also bit me like that when I moved him away from bitting my pant leg. I do know the difference between regular puppy behavior and violent aggression. This is violent aggression.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
