Aggressive 7 month old pit mix to our 2 year old yorkie

by Joyce
(Mn)

We adopted Bella ( yorkie mix) as a puppy. Our daughter also adopted a pit mix Ruby. They are three months apart and became fast friends. My husband decided to adopt another pit mix at a rescue. Addy, is now 6 months and progressively getting more aggressive to Bella. She pined her down today, like she was out of control. Was not listening to my husbands command to stop. She caused Bella to Yelp, which if you know Bella, never happens. She's very feisty. Addy was inches away from shaking Bella. I am afraid to leave her alone with addy. Any suggestions on how to handle this?

Nothing In Life Is Free

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
