I brought my maltese in for his rabies vaccination today. He was in his kennel and as soon as I took him into the building he was obviously petrified. The kennel was shaking in the floor. He had 2 vaccinations during this visit. I asked if they would clip his nails and shave around his eyes. They did this for me previously. The vet tech took him away from me. My sister was surprised by this because usually the owner's presence and voice are the only thing that will help in the stressful environment of the vet's office. They took him away the last time too. She came back out into the waiting room and in front of everyone said your dog is bad. He bit me and the other tech. She then brought a muzzle out and put it on him to demonstrate how to apply the flea and tic topical. Am I wrong to be so mad about this? He's 3 months old. I had expressed to the doctor I was concerned about the biting. He said he needs to be taught not to and he's playing. I think it was really unprofessional for the tech to say he's bad (she also said I need to be on him). Any thoughts? I'm the original poster for the above...
