6 year old American Staffordshire terrior has become very agressive to our 2 and a half year old male pocket bully

My 6 year old am staff has become very aggressive towards our 2 and a half year old pocket bully. She is fixed and they have both been in our household sense pups. This started several months back while they were eating together like they always had and she would start going to his bowl leaving her own full to growl and start a fight with him, it had happened several times the same way with us having to physically separate them luckily with only small injuries, this behavior continued with her going to him so I started separating them for meal Time and still she'd leave her bowl to seek him out and go into the bathroom where he'd be eating to start a fight, finally the last couple weeks he has been crated to eat for all there safety and she's going and attacking the crate. Now we are at the point where they cannot be together again at all without immediately fighting where before when they were separated it was over. Now if she sees him passing the crate she's trying to attack and it's become extremely stressful for everyone. I don't understand the sudden change in behavior and it's very hard to keep them separate all the time. They are our family members and I am at a loss for what to do next if anyone has any advice please I could use any help I can get. Ty

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.

All the best,
Adam
