I have a pit lab mix as well and she plays the same way. Its really not bad as long as you make sure she's actually playing and not trying to dominate. With smaller dogs you'll either kinda keep her away or correct with a "that'll do" command. For me teaching my puppy a command that basically means "chill out" is one of the best things you can do for that. You have to remember puppies are learning their strength and socializing with other dogs. Its important to get them socalized as much as possible so you'll never have to worry about an aggressive out burst or dog fight. I personally want dogs to test my puppies boundries so she understands how to respect other dogs as well as being tolerant to the super crazy ones. As for jumping a dog trainer told me to tuck my arms and constantly move away taking one step forward from her whilst ignoring her bad behavior and continuing till she stops then reward when they have calmed down. Its worked pretty well for her. Best thing you can do for her jumping on visitors is teach a "down" command. Ive taught her "down" "up" "wait" "back up" "out" or "get out" and "drop it" or "give it" these all will make a difference with communicating with her

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
