2 year old boxer attacking 10 year old chiweenie

by Patti Cabe

We have a 10 year old chiweenie, a 2 year old boxer and a 7 months old lab that we got in August 2014. All of the dogs have lived together since getting them. Suddenly the boxer has been attacking the chiweenie for what seems like over nothing. the attacks are getting progressively worse. I have been watching for signs of dominance/submission and some of the times the chiweenie will not look away from the boxer but most of the time will. we have no idea why the boxer has started to do this and it is very frustrating. We have the boxer and lab registered for obedience training on the 18th per advice from the vet and are keeping them separated as much as we can but that is proving to be a very big hassle. Do you have any ideas or advice on this?

thank you,

Patti C

Establish yourself as the pack leader
by: Adam G. Katz

Your problem is that your dog didn't get a motivational correction for exhibiting the aggressive behavior.

You need to:

1. Establish yourself as the pack leader.

2. Put all dogs on a "Nothing In Life Is Free" program.

3. Do not leave these dogs together unsupervised.

4. Get all dogs fixed/neutered/spayed.

5. Keep a leash and collar on all yours dogs, when you're with them-- so that you can start correcting the aggression.

There's also games to play to cure doggie-boredom? This report tells all... and it's your's, absolutely free when you subscribe to our free newsletter.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free"
approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
