Dog on dog aggressive leonberger

My male leonberger is nearly two he was chemically castrated 6 months ago and permanently 4 weeks ago, I also have a female leonberger who is slightly older 26 months she is spayed and has a wonderful temprement.

My male has attacked several dogs I had a little dog before I got the lronbergers when my male Leo was about 9 months he attacked the little dig needing vet treatment he attacked him again very badly so I rehomed the kite dog with a family member. He has attacked dogs on several occasions when off lead or on lead makes no difference, although he has played nicely with dogs when off lead too he's very unpredictable.

I tried to adopt a rescue dog and he was fine on introduction with him but attacked him too twice so my daughter now has the rescue dog. He plays with my female leonberger fine and never shown er any aggression, or any aggression towards us.

When out he is very hand shy especially with men he will back off and bark st them. I don't know why he's like it had same socialising training etc as my girl, but she is friendly with everyone and all dogs any suggestions!

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
