13 week old Corgi, snarls, shows teeth, bites hard

This puppy came from a local family and they told me his father was a bit aggressive but I doubt to this extent. My puppy may be in the yard playing or chewing on a treat or just doing something he shouldn't like chewing on something in the yard that he should not be and he will snap at you with gritt teeth and snarls, he will thrash around trying to bite you and get ahold of u, it is down right mean. He has bite be a few times and now drawn blood a few times. I can not get him to settle down either with grabbing his neck and mouth. That is if I can get ahold of him with out getting bit. I'm lost and want this to stop right now.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
