Yorkshire aggressive to older pug

by Toni M.
(Sao Paulo-Brazil)

Hi, my name is Toni and I have two dogs. One female pug that I have for 8 years (I don't know her age since it was a rescue). She has a very limited vision and it is degrading. She is also almost deaf. I have a Second dog, a yorkshire 6 year old. Both castrated. They lived quite well since the york came for us. They even sleep together every day. In this years they had 2 or 3 fights. Since the pug started showing more difficulties to see (maybe a coincidence), the yorkshire attacked her several times. The pug is visibly fear, trembling and hiding all the time. Do you have any insight in How can we deal with this situation?

I'm Sorry any missuse of the english language but i am from Brazil and this is not my natural language.

Thank you in avance. Toni

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
