My 2 year old- Welsh Corgi has lost her mind!

by Kim

My welsh corgi puppy (Mia) use to coward to other dogs when she was small. About 6 months ago or so she was in our front yard when the neighbors Terrier ran across the street and attacked Mia on her back leg as I was trying to pull her up into my arms. I went and told the neighbor what his dog had done.

Now, I am seeing signs of aggresive behavior in Mia as well. She attacked my Mother's tiny little Chawawa and this morning she brutally attacked our older Basset Hound. She literally had him on his back and attacking him as he screamed for help. I felt so bad for the old guy. I scold her and put her away in her crib after I looked her over to see if she was ok. She never gets aggressive with me.

I just don't understand what is making her feel this is OK behavior when she use to be so timid and sweet? How can I help her without spending a fortune for a very expensive trainer?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
