Border collie sudden aggression

by Leonie
(Bedfordshire uk )

I have a 13 month old border collie called Murphy, we got him as a 10 week old puppy his previous owner had him 4 weeks but realised she made a mistake in purchasing him..he settled in nicely, and him n I became very close ...when he was one yr old I went to France for a week, and while I was a away I received a call from my husband who was away with him on our boat, saying he's growling at people and children all of a sudden he turner into an unpredictable dog, that was three weeks ago. We have just returned from a big family holiday with Murphy and he was a nightmare!! Growling showing his teeth to most people who dare come near the boat and us!!! He has also turned into a very touchy nervous dog ...which I noticed before I took my first people might think straight away this is a dog that has been beaten ...not the case in face he's has never been smacked and had been a beautiful friendly dog up to recently ...he has always loved anyone who stopped to say hello whilst out on our regular walks ....WHY has this suddenly happened Could there be something seriously wrong with him??? I adore this little man and just don't want to loose him because he has bitten someone any ideas please

Nothing In Life Is Free

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
