Aggressive Sibrean Husky

by Ellicia
(England)

Hey there,

Recently we bought a Siberian Husky from a couple as the woman was pregnant. My husky Storm is just over 1, very intelligent and he gets on well with some people once he is used to them. When Storm is on his walks there are always cats on our journey but now he is not so bothered about cats it is DOGS!

I myself will be walking him calmly down the road and one he see's a dog he will jump up,pull and moan the pulling is so bad he's on a prong collar which doesn't really help at all. My dog has not been neutered yet so would this help to calm him down? The couple we bought him of said he was attacked by a staff and that's why he has three teeth missing but I'm wondering if it was because he attacked the staff himself. What can I do to make him more dog friendly? I'm taking him early in the morning 5 am to avoid dogs ?

Many thanks

E.Smith

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
