Aggressive Maltese x shitzu

by Ben
(Brisbane Australia)

Hey guys

My partner and I recently purchased 2 puppies.
Unfortunately the female is showing signs of aggression towards us and more concerning our children. Randomly when being picked up she will growl, even lashing out once at our 2 year old.
The male is perfect. Hasn't shown a sign of anything negative at all. It's concerning us because she is a little small and 'jumpy' at times. We are contacting the breeder to see if they saw any of these signs in her.

Generally she is well behaved. She is much more stubborn then her brother. Often refusing to come when called. Any advice on a way forward would be welcomed. Unfortunately if things don't improve we will be looking to re home her. In the meantime we are willing to put all out efforts into her.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
