8 month old cockapoo

by Bee
(Toronto, Ontario, Canada )

Hi there
Our 8 month old cockapoo was running towards the road and instinctively picked him up. We had been playing "soccer" prior to this. Anyways, I quickly snatched him up, which he did not like, and he ended up biting my hand and drawing blood. He is also aggressive with food balls or if he picks something up off of the ground when we are walking. He is afraid of other dogs smelling him but he is fine with the opposite. How do I help my puppy? We have worked children and there are many children on our strert. I don't want anything to accidentally happen to them. Thank you.

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
