Very Aggressive terrier chihuahua mixed

We just got our sweet little Kenzie in May 2017 ..She is 4 yrs old ...We got her fixed 2 months ago ... She is now being very aggressive at night time ..when its time to put her to bed at night time or if we have to go somewhere ..We have put her to bed always between 11- 12 midnight and she has her own bed in the laundry room ...We take her out to potty then its bedtime....she is growing and snapping at us... I'm so sad to think we may have to give her up...I put a towel over her head to keep her from biting me when I put her to bed...I don't want to have to keep doing this to her every bedtime ...Please help us ...

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
