jealous 1 yr old Yorkchon

by Mary Martin
(Alpharetta Ga)

I had two dogs...an 18 yr old male Silky and a 10 yr old female Yorkie...last Christmas my son gave me a 3 month old Yorkchon. She took to my Yorkie and constantly followed her everywhere. She is very sweet smart and took to training. She sits, stays and does her business outside as I have an enclosed courtyard w dog door. She is now 1 yr old and has grown, is larger than both dogs. Well recently she has attacked my Yorkie, once or twice not that bad however it has gotten worse especially when my Grand children are present.....today my granddaughter reached down to pet the Yorkie and my Yorkcon went after her and wouldn't let go, it took two of us to pry her mouth open off my poor Yorkie's neck. If it hadn't been for my Yorkie's collar I don't know what damage would have resulted. I just can't have this behavior and don't know what to do. She leaves my male Silky alone. I'm sure she's jealous. As I say she has a very sweet nature to all
humans in the house but her behavior has escalated in the last two weeks. Help...

Establish yourself as the pack leader.
by: Adam G. Katz

Your problem is that your dog didn't get a motivational correction for exhibiting the aggressive behavior.

You need to:

1. Establish yourself as the pack leader.

2. Put your dogs on a "Nothing In Life Is Free" program.

3. Do not leave your dogs together unsupervised.

4. Get your dog fixed/neutered/spayed.

5. Keep a leash and collar on your dog, when you're with him-- so that you can start correcting the aggression.

There's also games to play to cure doggie-boredom? This report tells all... and it's your's, absolutely free when you subscribe to our free newsletter.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free"
approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
