German Shepherd Mix

by Janet C.
(McAllen Tx )

I just adopted this German Shepherd mix, they gave it to me but it was tied to a tree and you could tell it was not good taken care off because It had an infection in her eyes and she din't have her vaccines done, also really skinny and she is about to turn one. I took her to the vet and they put her on this antibiotics and It does looks like the eye thing is going away. O well she's doing great now but she is kind of aggreesive in my point of seeing it. For many reasons but today when my aunt and little cousins came she barked at them and tried to attack them I wasn't there when it happened but my mom and dad got out and tried to stop her and she didn't listen. lucky nothing bad happened but I am really concerned about it because I do not want her to attack anybody specially because I have a little sister and a little brother. I got her since October the 4, 2015 she is really smart but this was not the only incident but she also tends to bark at people in an aggressive way. any good suggestions about knowing how to control this situation would be appreciated.

thanks a lot !

Nothing In Life Is Free

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
