I have a springer spaniel bitch, thatwill be one year old in march. she is very well behaved in many respects for her age. She comes to call most of the time on a couple of occasions she has played hard to get and kept running by me but doesnt really do that anymore, she goes in her crate without being told when she knows i have to go out, she knows when it is her turn to go out, i make her wait tell i go out first and she dose waite sometimes she forgets in excitement but i tell and she comes back in, she dose pull on leah but is getting much better and when she gets goes to far i stand still and she comes back to my heel. She is usually really good with other dogs if any thing submissive lies down when another dog comes to play but will then run happy with them, however another springer that really has grown up with same age as her male and alittle smaller than her, that she has played with happily untilol december they were running together when my springer lula started growling at other springer charlie. she groweld and chased him when she caught him she pinned him on the floor with her paw other his neck she did not bite him, but kept growling, she as never done this with any other dog last night we met and she did the same thing, she is not agressive in the house and dose do as i tell her she dose show her teeth a tiney bit like in a grin, but only dose this when happy tail wagging, also her tail is wagging when she dose this with charlie.

Does The Dog Understand?
by: Adam G. Katz

Hi, Yvonne:

You'll need to start by asking yourself two questions:

1. Does the dog understand that the dog aggression is unwanted behavior?

and

2. If she understands that she shouldn't be aggressive, then she's choosing to ignore me. In which case, you have a respect issue.

Get a prong collar and a six foot leather leash and learn how to correct your dog in a safe and humane manner. I can guarantee that you'll see an almost immediate, dramatic improvement. Check out DogProblems.com to learn more.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
