agressive towards small children sheperd lab mix

by Holly
(PA)

My dog is 10 months. We got her about a month ago and she does well with my teenagers and adults. After a week she started to show aggression towards my daughter and I. We are working with her on this and are making progress. My concern is I brought home my 3 year old nephew to babysit and she growled and barked at him the whole time. I had to have my son come remove her from the room so I could put him down. She was even worse with my 1 year old niece. She seems to be really afraid of them. We are attached to her so I am hoping there is something I can do because I don't want to get rid of her.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
