My Pom is 7 months old. He is so polite, submissive, rarely barks, loves everyone, and he already has been trained to not bite while playing. The only problem is that when he sees something that he knows he's not supposed to have, he will hide his face and the object of his ignorant desire, (even if we are both on my bed, in the bathroom with the door closed etc.) and will be way too quiet, so then when I say his name he has a so-obvious-crap-I'm-caught face and body language reaction by simply moving his head around really fast or trying to run away as fast as he can, so when I catch him in my arm, or in the closed room, I have to open his mouth to get the deadly item out, but each time I do this he gets really aggressive with me and today he actually bit me so hard that the wound is a deep slice on my fingers.
This was NOT a play bite. He has already been properly trained by me that he needs to be gentle with my sensitive skin while playing.
This aggressiveness comes out ONLY when he tries to be sneaky , gets caught, and the item is attempted to be take away. It's like a temper tantrum since he doesn't understand that what's in his mouth can kill him, or make him seriously ill. What's the best way to; 1.) not search for things that he knows he's not to eat, and 2.) to not bite aggressively when caught???
