Aggressive Great Dane

by Vickie
(California)

I have a great dane , a lab mix and a jack russell. The great dane is only aggressive to the jack russell. They will lay on the same dog bed and run with each other but as soon as we pay any attention to the jack russell the dane will go after her grabbing her around the neck and shaking her causing great harm. (stitches, staples and drains the last time it happened).

What can we do?

You need to:

1. Establish yourself as the pack leader.

2. Put both dogs on a "Nothing In Life Is Free" program.

3. Do not leave these dogs together unsupervised.

4. Get both dogs fixed/neutered/spayed.

5. Keep a leash and collar on both dogs, when you're with them-- so that you can start correcting the aggression.
