Aggressive coton de tulear

My 5 month old coton de tulear has become aggressive towards us. Most of the time she is gentle but it occurs most at night before bed when she seems to come alive and show this aggressive behaviour! I was told to take her gently by the scruff of her neck and gently shake her like her mother would but this just makes her worse. Help!

Who was your breeder and your dogs parents? There have been some reports of agresive lines.

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
