Aggressive Boston Terrior Poodle Mix

Hey,

I have had my female boston-poo for 3 years she has been an angel up until 3 months ago.

I have taken her to off leash parks since she was 6 months old and she always seemed to love other dogs. Recently I took in a 6 month old puppy and her agression at the dog park started when this happened. It cant be jelousy because I give them both the same amount of attention. She is never agressive with the puppy only with other dogs at the park. I think it might be territorial or sexual. most of the dogs she attacked were female and about her size... until yesterday she attacked this little pug and he was just playing minding his own buisness. He didn't even look at her and she jumped on him and started growling and biting his neck visously. She ended up biting her lip and making herself bleed. She didn't hurt the pug thank god!

I'm ready to buy her a mussle but I don't know what to do. When she attacked the pug I grabbed her and flipped her on her back until she was calm. After doing that she walked beside me and kept looking at me with her ears back. She has never shown aggresion towards people but I'm worried that it will start if I dont fix this.

I need help it was a total 360 in her personality. She has always been so timid. One time a squirrel got in to our house and was running around and she cornered it and started licking it and wagging her tail. She would never even hurt a squirl.

HELP ME!

Correcting Aggression in Dogs
by: Adam G. Katz

Hi, Ashley:

What a cutie:

While your correction wasn't the most efficient way to do it... her submissive reaction indicates that you communicated your point, effectively.

If you learn how to give a leash correction (and make it motivational) you'll be that much more effective.

Don't take her to the dog park. Too many things can go wrong. But work in a controlled environment, and if your corrections have timing, consistency and motivation... this behavior will disappear after two or three corrections.
