aggressive 6 month old german shepherd

by Mandi

My female german shepherd is 6 months old and she is scared of anyone that does not live in the home. It is me and my fiance and my baby and my 7 year old and a 14 year old and a small dog which is a feist and she is not aggressive towards us or the small dog. She plays ruff with my 7 year old she play bites and we have been trying to stop her from that she has done it since she was a puppy. She tries to play with the small dog but the small dog just growls at her the whole time and has bit her. The small dog growls at her even if she is just close to her or licking her. She has peed while laying down and growling at a guest that usually comes over once a week. She hid and growled when another guest came over with her 2 kids which were 3 years old. When I take her to the pet store she growls and barks at other dogs. I tried taking her to the dog park and I had to hold her mouth shut because if a dog came up to her she barked and growled. She also chews everything up including her own bed and she has plenty of toys. Why is she so scared of everyone and other dogs?

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
