Aggressive 2.5yr old female German Shepard

(Saskatchewan, Canada )

In the last year and as of August 24th 2015 around 10p.m our beautiful 2.5yr old GS has attacked and tried to kill or 7 year old male shitzu! We rescued Sarah (GS) when she was 7 months old and her and our shitzu always got along, yet she started attacking to kill in the summer of 2014 the first incident which sent our boy to the vet for numerous stitches and Us Being told she just missed his curotted artery, the second attack another trip to the vet and more stitches, the third puncture wound small and no need for stitches and the fourth it took every once of strength to get her off of him she refused to let go she was out to kill him, I had to hit her in the noise hard before she let go!!!! She is up to date on her shots, and we are left confused and scared that next time she will kill him or she will go after our kids!!
I love animals we live on an acreage and if I could I would save them all, but now now I am lost and scared and I don't know how to fix her or the issues and do not know what my next steps should be!!
Please help me!!! My dogs are my family to but I can't have one killing another!!!

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
