Aggressive 10 month old Staffy

by Barb
(Oregon)

We got zoe at 11 weeks and she is a peach but is barking excessively mostly at people and attacking smaller animals.

She was recently spayed. She has been allowed to play rough with some of our room mates. How do we train her not to attack the smaller animals in the house. The smaller animals have been in the household longer than her. The Chorkie backs her down but the shiatsu (fixed male) and she are explosive. The shiatsu (9.9 lbs thinks he can take the 57lb Staffy. Any fixes. The Staffy get very little exercise. All of the dogs are owned by different people in the household. How do we handle the situation? At this point we do not the little dogs be alone when the staffy is in the main part of the house.

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
