9 Week Old Springer Spaniel

We have had our 9wk old springer spaniel at home with us one week. At first it was kind of funny when he would play agressively with our 14 year old son, but now he thinks he needs to attack our son every time our son is in the room.

I know this is behavior we need to correct quickly before it gets out of hand. He bites at his feet and legs and growls each time he sees our son. What do we do to correct this?

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
