4 month old Jack Russell aggressive

by Kate
(Bath, United Kingdom )

We recently got a Jack Russell puppy, we have had her from 8 weeks and she joined my family of 3 small children under 5 and 2 other dogs a Rottweiler and boxer.

She was always nipping when younger which we understood having 2 dogs already and now we know she is teething as she's lost a few teeth but she is becoming aggressive with my children my daughter who's 5 and a very big animal lover and very grown up for her age when she tried playing with her she attacks her, she's ripped 3 pairs of her leggings and when she tries to give her a cuddle she bites her and has caught her face afew times and it doesn't look playful and her mouth goes up n makes that horrible snarling sound, she has also nipped my son on his cheek he is 2 and when he goes to stroke her she bites him but being 2 he laughs and doesn't understand! She is getting aggressive with my boxer when we have food about, which again I don't understand as she gets fed 3 times a day and doesn't go without so don't understand this but my boxer is so soft she gets away with it with him he backs down but she bites me hard if I'm sat on floor she won't just sit and cuddle she bites full on and has made my bleed a few times we try and discipline her but she doesn't listen one bit. I'm stuck and don't know what to do we are massive animal lovers and wouldn't want to get rid of her but I can't take the chance with my children and my youngest is only 4 months. Please can someone help me?
Thank you

Nothing In Life Is Free
by: Adam G. Katz

Employ the "Nothing In Life Is Free" approach, so that your dog starts to view you as the "pack leader." If your dog doesn't see you as the leader, then your corrections will be meaningless. So, if you're doing subtle things (inadvertently) to undermine your leadership role around the house-- it will be counter-productive.
