Boogie, our standard size long haired dachshund, has been raised with Jenny, a chihuahua Boston terrier mix, and Jeffrey a frail 4 lb. chihuahua. When he came to us 2 years ago, he was 3 months old, Jenny was 2 and Jeffrey was 4. He established himself as the dominant through playing and other means. Boogie was getting slightly too aggressive so we had him fixed about 6 months ago with no problems or complications. Jenny will still put him in his place when he comes near her food but he still gets his way most of the time. We are taking care of our friend's 3 year old pit bull Bane while they are trying to get their yard dog proofed. When Boogie sees Bane he immediately attempts to run and attack. Bane is a sweet dog who rarely shows any aggression. We have let Jenny and Jeffrey both play with Bane and they get along great. We have to lock up Boogie, who barks and stresses like he is going to give himself a stroke, when we let Bane outside and then put Bane in the garage when he is done, so there isn't a fight. We have tried to introduce them nose to butt, but Boogieonly wants one thing. I am working with Boogie to calm down and trying some obedience but what else can I do with him?
